Diabetes Update Course and Scientific Conference
February 2-4, 2011: Diabetes Update Course and Scientific Conference, Ibadan, Nigeria.
The WDF projects 08-321 and 10-515 are designed to improve the overall diabetes (and hypertension) care in Nigeria thereby preventing or delaying the onset of complications. The overall objective is prevention of diabetes (and hypertension) at two levels: primary and secondary healthcare levels. The projects are in the area of Prevention, Diabetes Education and Capacity building.
We are organising a diabetes update course and scientific conference early next year February 2nd to 4th, 2011. This three day program will feature lecture presentations by leaders in the field of academia and industry. The focus will be on Diabetes and HIV with a sub-theme: HIV and Diabetes, two epidemics on a collision cause? The update course and scientific conference shall hold at the Paul Hendricks Hall, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Dr Kaushik Ramaiya, a Vice-President of the International Diabetes Federation, and a member of the World Diabetes Foundation has agreed to participate as the international Guest Speaker in the proposed SIDCAIN Update/Scientific Conference.
Likewise, Prof. John Idoko, the current Director General of National Agency for Control of AIDS (NACA) shall also participate as an invited Guest Lecturer.

Publication in peer reviewed Edited Proceedings
It is our desire to publish all lectures presented during the Update Course and the Scientific Conference, as well as full papers submitted, in peer reviewed Edited Proceedings, which will be made available at the conference venue. In line with this, I humbly request that you submit your manuscript for publication on or before December 10th, 2010.
