Betting information and predictions Iron Bowl and other SEC games

To the Alabama football and the Auburn Tigers, it’s the 81st Iron Bowl week. Of course, not all competitions dating back to 1893 have nicknamed the game the Iron Bowl. Some Alabama football fans believe the Iron Bowl name should have been dropped after the game was last played in Birmingham. That was in 1998 when the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Tigers 31-17.

Since the Games moved to campus in 1999, Alabama has won 12 times and Auburn has won 11 times. That record wouldn’t be nearly equal if Auburn hadn’t won six straight games in 2002-2007.

Alabama Football vs. Auburn Spread Week 13

fan duel has the Crimson Tide as a 21.5-point favorite at the start of the week. The Over/Under is fixed at 49.5 points. The money line is Alabama -1800 and Auburn +920.

Alabama Football vs Auburn Match Prediction

Auburn’s interim head coach Carnell “Cadillac” Williams has strengthened the Tigers. Auburn is 2-1 under Cadillac’s lead, with their only loss in overtime against Mississippi State. The two wins came against teams Auburn should have beaten; Texas A&M and Western Kentucky.

Now Cadillac and Auburn are up against an Alabama Crimson Tide team they shouldn’t be able to beat. And they won’t unless Alabama finds multiple ways to beat itself.

What will surely be the last game in Tuscaloosa for Bryce Young will motivate the Crimson Tide offense. Defensively, Alabama must thwart Auburn’s ongoing game. The Crimson Tide defense was mostly stiff against runs.

As measured by completion percentage, Auburn has the worst passing offense among SEC teams at 51.9%. Late in the season, Auburn QB, Robby Ashford has become a better passer.

Throughout the season, Auburn’s defense has been far from outstanding. But since Williams took over for Bryan Harsin, Auburn has statistically been the SEC’s best defense, allowing 4.25 yards per play.

Alabama has a talent advantage to cover the game’s spread. But Auburn will make for an uphill battle. Alabama at its best will win a blowout. Alabama with less than its best will win, but less decisively. One guess early in the week is that the game will offer Auburn’s best and Alabama’s less than best.
