Men’s and Women’s Squash Pick Up 9-0 Sweeps Over Tufts

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s squash teams clinched two 9-0 victories over Tufts of Penn Squash Center (PSC) on Sunday, capping a 4-0 weekend for the team after victories over Western Ontario (men ) and Stanford (women) on Saturday.

After last night’s 5-4 win over the Cardinal, Sunday offered a little less drama for the women. Grace Lavin, Ashley Manningand Penelope Oh all clinching 3-0 wins in under 20 minutes Emma Carter and Jana Dweek Get wins in 20 or 21 minutes. Eujung Park six 3-0 wins for Penn, three very close games including a 17-15 win in the first. Avni Anand, Natasha Penslerand Emma Wolf all won 3-1 as the Quakers advanced to 4-1

The men were just as dominant, if not more dominant, in their game, losing just one game in all nine games. Omar Hafez and Abdelrahman Dweek each wrapped their winnings in 19 minutes, Tushar Shahani lost only seven points in his match., Shaam Gambhir and Dillon Huang each survived a couple of close plays in their matches while Saksham Choudhary, Oliver Green and Rehan Luthra all also won 3-0. Nathan Cow was the only Quaker to lose a game during the day, moving to 24-2 at Penn.

The women are now free until 2023, while the men will return to PSC for games with Haverford and Chatham respectively on December 3 and 4.
