Online gambling in Pennsylvania records revenue of $158.9 million in October

That Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) released figures on Thursday showing online casinos and sportsbooks in Pennsylvania hit revenue highs in October.

The combined total sales of $450.2 million was generated from all sources of gaming revenue including:

  1. Retail slot machines
  2. Retail table games
  3. Online casinos (slots, table games, poker)
  4. Sports Betting (Online and Retail)
  5. fantasy competitions
  6. Video Game Terminals (VGTs)

Total revenue is higher than the $425.9 million generated in October 2021. And a 0.4% increase from $448.5 million in September 2022.

Gambling records in Pennsylvania in October 2022

Once again, retail slot machines were the main source of revenue and a contributor $199 millionalthough that’s down 2.1% from October 2021. Year-on-year, retail table games sales were also down 10.4% $79.3 million.

Online slots surpassed retail table games to become the second highest revenue stream for gambling in the state. Last month online slots broke a record $86.3 millionwhich corresponds to an increase of 22.1% compared to the previous year.

Online table games revenue was also up 21.8% $35.7 million created in October. However, Internet poker revenue was down 12.7% by $2.5 million.

Meanwhile, revenue from VGTs rose 5.2% $3.5 million for October 2022, but revenue from fantasy sports competitions fell by 12.7% $2.5 million.

The Pennsylvania online casino was strong in October, reaching $124.5 million

As for the online casino vertical, Hollywood Casino at Penn National preceded, generating $52.7 million in sales. That contained:

  • $35.2 million from slot machines
  • $17.2 million from table games
  • $308,814 from online poker

Rivers Casino Philadelphia followed by $29.3 million in sales. Valley Forge Casino Resort was next with $23.4 million in revenue from online gambling.

Looking at online casino vertical earnings in general, here is an overall breakdown:

  • $86.3 million came from slot machines
  • $35.7 million came from table games
  • $2.5 million from poker

Online sports betting revenue in PA hits $40.5 million in October

When it comes to sports betting revenue, the PA Sportsbooks record for Handle is overall $797.1 million in October. The figure is 2.7% higher than last year’s $776.3 million and an increase of $151.9 million since September 2022.

Last month’s PA sports betting revenue was also up 72.2% year-on-year at $40.5 million $34.4 million from online betting and $6.1 million from retail.

Valley Forge Casino Resort and fan duel remained the market leader in production $22.1 million in sales from a $292.0 million handle.

Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and Barstool followed with sales of $7.8 million and a handle of $231.1 million.

In the meantime, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and BetRivers did $2.6 million in sales for a total of $33.4 million.
